An Interview with Tristin Denton, Stylist and Owner of Boho Hair Studio in Westfield Massachusetts
What is your business name? How did you come up with it?
Boho Hair Studio. I came up with it one night during a wine night with my friends by shortening my favorite form of styling and blonding: Bohemian
What were you doing before you started business? And/or what else are you doing now (school/work etc)
I worked at two salons where I learned my craft and built up clientele. I also was a cashier and florist at Big Y before I started hair.
How would you describe your business?
A small, one on one experience where you can come to be pampered and relax and leave with great hair and feeling more confident.
What was the most recent interesting conversation you had?
I was conversing with a new client of mine on how much hair changes from birth to puberty to pregnancy to older age. Your hair is greatly affected by different hormone levels.
What products/services do you offer?
Haircuts, custom colors, blonding, weft and tape in extensions, bridal styling and makeup, and facial waxing. I carry Amika, Verb, K18, Leaf & Flower, Design.Me, and Redken
What is your favorite hair product you would recommend to everyone?
Verb Ghost Oil. It’s lightweight, super hydrating, and works for all hair types and textures.
What’s your favorite thing about your business?
I love being able to make my own schedule, decide which services I want to do, and have free range on the style of my salon to reflect my personality.
Most rewarding?
Getting to make my clients feel and look amazing.
Most challenging?
Taking on more then I can handle. I’m still working on boundaries in business so I don’t overwhelm and burn myself out.

What do you do for fun in your down time?
I love going for walks either around my neighborhood or the park and I’m a big gamer and love playing on my Nintendo Switch.

What do you want to achieve in the future?
I’d love to collab with my favorite color brand and make lots of fun content for my clients and social media followers.
