5 Ways to Help You Feel Confident in Front of the Camera

Having your photos taken can sometimes be a bit intimidating, however, I want to help you feel confident in front of the camera! Over the years I have found a few quick tips to help people feel more comfortable and confident during their photo sessions and I am happy to share them with you!

Choose Something You Feel Comfortable In

When choosing what to wear for your photo session, make sure it represents you. By doing this you can make sure that you feel and look your best. By creating an outfit you are comfortable in you are ensuring confidence that will show itself in your photos.

Don’t Over-Utilize or Under-Utilize Makeup

This applies to both men and women who choose to wear makeup during their photo session. Using too much makeup, or not enough, can lead to you looking a different way under lighting that will lead you to be unsatisfied with your photos. By wearing the right amount, and checking it in different lighting to make sure it’s enough, you will have one less thing to worry about.

Move Around

By moving your body around during your session, you will look more natural in your poses. It can help you let loose by moving around and make the session all around more enjoyable. Some ways you can do this is, shift your weight around, play with your hair, keep your arms lifted, and even dance around.

Fake It Till You Make It

Even if you feel awkward try not to let it show and project that confidence. It will show in your photos if you are feeling uncomfortable so fake it until you make it.

Hold A Prop

By holding a prop it can give you something to do with your hands. It is a good way to spice up photos and prevent awkwardness as well. Props can make all the difference when it comes to looking natural in photos, and it can be something as simple as a flower or special drink.

Finally… Be yourself!

If you are planning a photo session with me, we will have tons of fun chatting and laughing. Before you know it, you’ll think you’ve just reconnected with an old friend and that we’ve known one other forever. I’m so excited!
