What’s your name and your business name?
Meghan Rothschild // Chikmedia
How long have you been in business and what inspired you to start it?
10 years this year! I really wanted to start a company that focused on empowering women entrepreneurs to find their voice through strategic marketing & PR.
What products/services do you offer?
We are a full-service agency, with the exception of a few small, heavy tech services. We do branding, marketing strategy, communications plans, social media, graphic design. etc.!
What were you doing before you started your business? And or what else are you doing now (school/work etc.)
I have lived many, many lives with jobs ranging from entertainment to nonprofit. I am also a professor of social media and Marketing at Springfield College and Roger Williams University, my alma mater.
How would you describe your business?
Fun, cheeky, edgy… we have A LOT of fun in what we do, and we never take ourselves too seriously! Our work is high quality and effective.
I think about _____ a lot.
My pups! They are my world.
What is your favorite place in your office/studio/home?
I love hanging out on the couch with my husband and our fur-babies.
What do you think of garden gnomes?
Errr… hard pass.
What’s your favorite thing about your business? Most rewarding? Most challenging?
I love the creative aspects of what I do, but I hate running the business. I think entrepreneurs get into business ownership because they are passionate about what they do but then realize there is an administrative side to things that can be a time-suck.
Beach or Mountain Vacation?
Beach, 100%
What do you do for fun in your down time?
Downtime? What’s that?
What’s your exercise/self-care routine?
I LOVE spin… I work out 4 days a week and also commit to a monthly massage appointment that I DO NOT MISS!
Tell me a little about your family life. Are you married, have children, or fur babies?
Married, no kids (11 nieces and nephews though) and 3 fur-babies who are our children.
What motto/quote do you always try to live by?
We’ll cross that bridge when we get there – I try to remind myself not to stress over things until I get there, IF I do get there…
What do you want to achieve in the future?
I would really like to reactivate my national speaking career. I had a great presence pre-pandemic, but COVID really took the wind out of my sails…
Favorite show to binge watch?
Oh god, SO MANY! I love Emily in Paris, Law & Order: SVU, Ted Lasso, Only Murders in the Building…
