Kayleigh Hannon | Inner Shift On Demand Classes

An Interview with Kayleigh Hannon, Owner of Inner Shift Yoga Studio

What is your name? What is your business name?

Kayleigh Hannon

Inner Shift Yoga Studio

What products/services do you offer?

On-demand yoga, barre and mindfulness classes to help you feel stronger, happier and more energized.

How would you describe your business?

Inner Shift is your go-to virtual wellness haven, empowering you to cultivate a workout routine you genuinely enjoy. My inclusive, feeling-based classes will get you excited to roll out your mat everyday.

What makes your business unique?

When I started Inner Shift, I wanted to create a welcoming, empowering space. I ditched the status quo of typical fitness studios that encouraged weight loss and focused on changing your body. Instead, I focus on accepting and loving your body for how it is right now and moving your body to feel good on the inside, mentally and physically.

What motivates you?

Knowing that my classes can help people heal their anxiety, feel happier and get their energy back. It took me a long time to find a workout routine that I enjoyed and I want to help as many people as possible experience the benefits of movement and mindfulness.

What were you doing before you started business? And/or what else are you doing now (school/work etc)

Before starting Inner Shift, I provided marketing strategy and design services to online business owners.

How do you maintain a work-life balance while running a small business and What strategies or practices have helped you navigate the demands of entrepreneurship?

When I began my marketing and design business, I let work take over my life and experienced burnout. I used to put work first above my health and my family and I knew I needed to be intentional with my schedule when I started Inner Shift. I created a simple business model with systems that help me run my business efficiently. I also make it a priority to workout and meditate to help keep me grounded and take care of my mental health so that I can show up for my family and my business.

What’s your favorite thing about your business? Most rewarding? Most challenging?

The most rewarding thing about my business is knowing the shifts that happen in my member’s lives when they start taking classes. Doing something that helps people be more present, experience more joy and lessen their stress is what gets me excited to create classes. The most challenging part is making sure I make time for my own movement and mindfulness practices. Teaching classes is much different than taking a class and I’m always trying to make sure I’m taking time for myself so that I can show up for my members.

What motto/quote do you always try to live by?

“You have everything you need to succeed”. So often we’re seeking answers from external sources, but if we give ourselves time to think and connect with our intuition, we realize that we have the answers we need to succeed and deep down know what we need to do.

How do you define success?

Success to me is being able to do work that’s fulfilling. Money will come if you love what you do.

What advice would you give to aspiring female entrepreneurs who are just starting their own businesses?

“Doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will” – Suzy Kassem
You have to push past the fear of failure, fear of what other people will think and the fear of wondering if you’re good enough. You are wildly capable and just need to take one step each day to bring your dream to life.

What do you want to achieve in the future?

I want to build a global wellness platform that encourages body positivity and helps people feel stronger, happier and more energized. I want to create a more empowering atmosphere in the fitness industry to help people develop healthy workout habits and feel confident in their bodies.
